Join New York Times best-selling author, Sedeqa Johnson & VCU’s Chair of the Department of African American Studies, Shawn O. Utsey, Ph.D. for this month's conversation. Sadeqa Johnson's book, Yellow Wife, follows an enslaved woman forced to barter love and freedom while living in the most infamous slave jail in Virginia (which is located steps away from the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center.) Dr. Utsey will add to the discussion with his thoughts on how race-related stress impacts the physical, psychological and social well-being of African Americans.
